Cast lead alloy ampulla fragment dating from the medieval period, that is c. late 12th-14th century. Only the lower part of the body survives with fluted mouldings on one side and what looks like the remains of a moulded circle on the other. The complete ampulla had a flat-rectangular neck and a sub-circular body and two handles. An incomplete medieval cast copper alloy buckle, dating to circa AD1300-1400. The buckle is D-shaped in plan with an expanded outer edge and narrowed strap bar. The front face is decorated with a linear design which frames a horizontal notch for the pin rest. The pin and plate are now missing. The reverse is undecorated. The object has a light to mid-green coloured well developed patina. Whitehead (2003) illustrates similar buckles on page 20, No's 66-68. All are dated to circa AD 1300-1400. Whitehead, R. Possibly a squashed and flattened lead-alloy (pewter) toy plate dating from the post-medieval period, c. 17th century. The plate it circular and was dished though it is now flattened. There is a cross in the centre and a flattened floral and feather design in each quadrant on the base and around the rim. Note: these toys are extremely rare in the North West England. Possibly a lead lid from a box of medieval date (c. AD 1300-1340). The object is a circular lead disc with a stamped design on one face depicting the sun.
