Medieval (probably) cast lead alloy spindle whorl. Biconvex. Each side has finely moulded relief decoration of, on one side, a quatrefoil containing a diamond with a pellet in each void and in each outer angle of the quatrefoil; and on the other side a cinquefoil containing a five-pointed star with a pellet in each of the voids of the cinquefoil and a triangle with pellet apex in each of the outer angles of the cinquefoil. The hole tapers slightly from 8.2-9.0mm on one side to 9.1-9.6mm on the other. Fine cream patina. Diameter 27.7mm, thickness 12.6mm, weight 43.09g.

One side has very faint relief moulded decoration of eight roughly equally spaced annulets (diameter mm), and there is a raised ridge around the outer edge. The other side is undecorated. Thick white patina. Diameter 28.7mm, thickness 6.2mm, diameter of hole 8.8mm-9.3mm, weight 22.89g. The very faint decoration suggests that this was made from a worn mould.
