Cast copper alloy seal matrix, circular and in perfect condition. It has a hexagonal cross-section handle with a trefoil suspension loop surmounted by circular loop. The seal depicts Mary Magdalene kneeling with a pot of ointment and Christ standing holding a staff with penants. The letters are gothic and the inscription reads S[igillum] MAGDELE [---] PRO NOBIS ORA. This suggests the translation 'holy Magdalene pray for us'. It may not be the official seal of an institution, but who commissioned it and used it is unknown. It is late 15th to early 16th century in date.

Cast copper alloy seal matrix. Oval in shape with a hexagonal cross-section handle surmounted wioth a trefoil suspension loop. It is in very good condition. An Elizabethan merchant's seal, it has the initials 'I B' with two stars either side. Below is a double XX linked beneath by a small crescent. Above the initials is a 4 denoting this was the seal of a dealer in cloth. It is late 16th to early 17th century in date.

Cast copper alloy mount with two integral lugs. It is symmetrical, with a central bar with one rounded end and a quatrefoil at the other. Two wings point downwards from the rounded end, giving the mount a figurative or bird-like appearance. It is 36mm in length and, with the wings, has a total width of 23mm. It is medieval to post medieval in date.

Mount, possibly from a sword belt. It is made of cast copper alloy and has been tinned to give a shiny silver appearance. It is asymmetrical, with a circular suspension loop to one side. The base is curved and is cut by diagonal grooves. There is a rectangular section of openwork above the base and a section of circular openwork between two rivet holes, that have the remains of iron rivets in place. It is 45mm in length and is probably post medieval in date.

Lead customs seal. From Holland, one side has the letters 'R & A'(for Dutch Customs and Excise) with '102' (the control number?)beneath stamped on it. This is surrounded by part of a beaded border. The other side has a lion rampant with a sword inside a shield with a crown (now worn) above. This represents the House of Orange. Dated after 1815, this is a common find and from any type of exported Dutch goods.

A thimble made of sheet copper alloy. it is 21.5mm high and has a diameter of 17mm at the base, which is damaged. Probably made by hammering out the sheet metal, it has vertical triangular indentations over the main part of the thimble and over the rounded crown. The base has a plain band 4mm thick underneath a ridge extending the diameter of the thimble, though this band is very damaged. It is Medieval to post-Medieval in date.

Cast copper alloy brooch. It comprises a disc or plate 25mm in diameter surrounded by seven projections or lugs (another is lost).The centre of the disc has four arms that curve towards the outer edge. The outer edge has a raised band 1mm wide. The reverse is plain and has the remains of the hinged pin and attachment at one edge. The date is uncertain, but similar brooches, in Read and Mills (see below) suggest either a Roman or early medieval date. These references both had an enamel or glass field, but any other material included in the make up of this brooch is now lost.

It is late 15th century in date.
