A Roman steelyard weight dating to c. 2nd century AD. The weight is of bi-conical shape with an iron loop at one apex for suspension. Length: 56.7mm, diameter: 57.00mm, weight: 792g. Such weights would sometimes have a loop at either end, one is for suspension and the other holds a hook on which to hang the thing being weighed. The Roman Weight system is as follows: 1 siliqua = 0.19g, 6 siliquae = 1g, 1 scripulum = 1.14g, 3 scripula = 1 drachama = 3.41g, 8 drachma = 1 uncia = 27. 3g, 12 unciae = 1 libra = 327.5g (the Roman pound).

A 14th century composite Strap -End, with sheet spacer occupying the whole width, having two copper alloy rivets one close to the attachment edge and the other passing through the finial. A slightly tapered strap end, with back plate, spacer, and front plate. The tapered plate terminates to an irregular rectangle where the finial (knop) has an additional piece of sheet having radiating grooves; 7.86mm, x 7.01mm The top plate has an engraved zig-zagged, lozenged shaped pattern. A fragment of a late Bronze Age socketed axehead dated from 1000-800 BC. The lower portion of the axe shows signs of been re-sharpened on one edge, and re-used in antiquity. This may of given rise to the inbalance and curved nature of the cutting edge. Cutting edge very fine and sharp. Width across cutting edge: 47.38 mm. Length from broken edge to cutting edge: 33.72. Thickness across broken edges 13.33 mm, 10.87 mm. Width across fractured edge: 30.73.

Found in 2003, north part of parish Linton SLEEVE CLASP Hines Form C Hook-piece from a gilded copper-alloy wrist-clasp of Hines’s Form C. The clasp is basically a rectangular plate with relief decoration of two C-shapes, each of which is a Style I animal seen in profile. Each animal consists of a long curving body made up of a raised border to either side with a lower-relief line, perhaps originally beaded but now worn, in between. Found in 1996, north part of parish Linton. SLEEVE CLASP Hines Form B12 Catch-piece from a copper-alloy wrist-clasp of Hines’s Form B12. It consists of a transversely ribbed bar 6-7 mm wide interrupted by three square panels, one at each end and one in the centre. The bar is low and plano-convex in cross-section, and the square panels are flat and rectangular in cross-section. Found in 2001, south part of parish SLEEVE CLASP Hines Form B12 Hook-piece from a copper-alloy wrist-clasp of Hines’s Form B12. It consists of a bar, 6 mm wide and 2 mm thick. This is plano-convex in cross-section and decorated with alternating broad and narrow transverse grooves. In the centre is a rectangular lobe which projects forward of the bar and is decorated with a central sunken square panel with a four-petalled flower in counter-relief. Found before April 2004, south part of parish PLAQUE Small circular copper-alloy disc, 21 mm in diameter and 2 mm thick. The front is heavily gilded and decorated with chip-carved ornament; in the centre is a rounded boss with a groove and then a ridge around it, and then there are three Style I animals filling most of the circle. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman pin, c. AD 150 - 250 AD. The pin has a flattened bi-conical head with only a short fragment of the shaft still remaining. Roman and Anglo-Saxon pins are similar in shape, but one of the main differences in this group of pins is that the Saxon pins normally have a collar just below the head of the pin.

Found in 1995, north part of parish MOUNT. Flat U-shaped mount made from gilded copper alloy. The upper edge is slightly incurved, and the mount is 17 mm wide here. It tapers very slightly down its length, and ends in a smooth rounded curve. It is decorated with a raised border, and a raised central longitudinal ridge; all of these are flat-topped and the central ridge is slightly wider than the border ridges. A possible Roman circular mount cast in cast copper alloy Dia- 29. 38mm .which is decorated with four cast circular countersunk impressions which are symmetrically apposing each other, there is a hole through the centre where there is evidence of a iron spike that would of been the means of attachment. There is a raised integral shoulder , depth – 6.35 mm that protrudes from the reverse of the mount and has remains of the iron spike protruding slightly through it.

A fragment of late Bronze Age plate scrap (ingot). C. 1000 - 800 BC. The fragment has a smooth flat inside surface with a slightly curved inside edge on its horizontal plane. It is also slightly curved across the horizontal inside surface making it very slightly curved in shape. Found 1999, south part of parish. LACE TAG possibly Triangular piece of copper-alloy sheet which has been rolled into a neat cone. The cone is very long and narrow, 55 mm long and 8 x 7 mm at the wider open end, and is undecorated except for faint grooves around the seam, which may be cutting-out lines. The seam is butted for 34 mm of its length, and is then open. There are no rivet holes or other obvious means of attachment. It weighs 4.1g.
