An incomplete, slightly misshapen and worn Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy purse bar (c. 1450-c. 1550). The loop is missing. The shaft of the loop would have passed through the hole in the central block and would have had a separate rove to secure it in place. This bar has a central block, an arm at each side and a terminal at each end of the arm. A rim sherd of a Medieval coarse-ware vessel (c. 1200-c. 1400). This flared bevelled rim has an angular rim and the surface is concave just below the rim on the interior face. It has a grey/off-white core and the surface is orange. It is tempered with rounded quartz, angular flint and some shell. The breaks are old. A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy Royal Artillery button (c. 1790-c. 1840). This button is moulded at the front and flat at the back except for the attachment loop. The front has a sunken heraldic shield bearing the charge of three cannon pointing left (one above the other) on a horizontally fine-lined ground, with three bezants above. On the upper face there are pin rests at both outside edges. One is more distinct than the other. A complete Medieval copper-alloy rotary 'casket' key (c. 1200-c. 1500). This key is very slightly convex on one side, flat on the other side and is solid throughout. The bow/handle is triangular with a triangular perforation which contains some casting flash. There is no collar between the bow and stem. It has a square bit with a cleft at the leading edge and one on the lower edge forming two wards. The stem does not protrude beyond the bit and the bow is slightly out of alignment with the bit.
