Roman copper alloy brooch. An incomplete strip bow brooch. The incomplete wings were folded back to house the axis bar for a separate hinged pin (both missing) the left wing is broken. There is a large notch between the wings to allow the pin to be articulated. The flat strip bow tapers from the head and is decorated with a longitudinal ridge at each edge flanking a blank central area. The foot is missing. The back is undecorated. Date: Roman, 1st to 2nd century

A fragment of cast copper alloy jug handle. A curvilinear/leaf-shaped lower terminal escutcheon with relief decoration of two human feet. There are traces of solder at the back where the escutcheon would have attached to the body of the jug and the surface is keyed by diagonal scoring to improve adherance. The escutcheon is slightly curved to accomodate the curve of the jug to which it was attached. Date: Roman - possibly 1st to 2nd century Dimensions: 49.33 mm x 33.59 mm x 5.67 mm Weight: 21.62 g

A copper alloy plate brooch. The brooch has a central, circular plate with a concentric rope border around a slight recess and a circular rivet through a hole in the centre. The recess and rivet probably once held a disc separate disc decoration, now missing. Around the edge of the plate are three rounded knopped projections and a projecting "leg". These four elements are set at equidistant intervals forming a cross-like design. The "leg tapers to a knopped foot and behind it is the catchplate for the hinged pin.
