A cast lead flask shaped medieval pilgrim souvenir. Traces of the angular perforated lug can be seen opposite the surviving one. On one side the ridges of the scallop shell pattern common on these ampullae is visible but the reverse appears to have been flattened obliterating any emblem. The three diagonal cuts in the object appear to result from damage in the soil. Spencer in The Salisbury Medieval Catalogue (1990 p58) suggests that these souvenirs date from 12th century till the reformation.
