A cast copper alloy annular brooch of medieval date. The brooch has a diameter of 33.34mm, the circular cross-section has a diameter of 3.4mm. The undecorated circular frame has no sign of a constriction for the pin, which is separately cast. The pin tapers slightly to a blunt point.

Medieval or post medieval buckle; cast copper alloy double oval loop buckle. The buckle has an iron wire pin. This buckle is very simple and with few distinguishing features so can only be loosely dated to the late 14th – early 17th centuries. Ref: see the buckles in Whitehead, page 57.

The undecorated circular frame has no sign of a constriction for the pin, which is separately cast and judging by the colour, may be in a slightly different alloy. The pin tapers unevenly to a point. The narrowness of this pin may suggest that this is a brooch rather than a buckle
