A complete copper-alloy conical Medieval seal matrix dating to the 13th-14th Century.  It has a circular base/die with a hexagonally faceted handle tapering to a suspension loop. The die is circular in plan and is engraved with a two pronged curving lines creating a stylised fleur de lis, and underneath three parallel lines and a letter E. The inscription reads EST AMOR ME... - (Jesus) is my love) Height: 19.57mm Diameter: 17.13 Weight: 6.36g

A fragment of a copper-alloy late Iron Age brooch of a possible Kragenfibel rosette type (Mackreth, 2011, pg 28). It is very corroded, making typogology difficult. The wing shape suggests a coil spring, although missing, and the bow seems to have a seperate plate, which is mostly corroded away. It is decorated with longnitudinal lines. The reverse is flat, with a small D shaped bow. It appears similar to examples in Mackreth, 2011, pg 19, plate 16, 5799, 5807, 13755 Length: 28.86mm Width: 18.57mm Weight: 5.80g

A fragment of a Roman copper-alloy finger ring dating to circa AD 43-200. The extant piece consists of the bezel and a portion of one of the shoulder. The bezel is circular, internally cast and raised from the apex of the ring. It has a central recessed area which would have contained a gemstone setting, now missing. The extant shoulder is constricted from the edge of the bezel and then appears to flare outwards before terminating in an old break The ring is consistent with Guiraud (1989)/Henig (1974) Types 2 dating to between the 1st-3rd centuries AD. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative hinged bow brooch. Missing part of the pin due to old breaks. T-shaped in plan, the wings are cylindrical in form folded to encase the separately cast copperr-alloy axis bar, with a central rectangular slot through which the now missing pin would have hinged. They are decorated on their front faces with pairs of moulded vertical grooves at the ends of the wings. The front face of the case bears three pairs of longnitudial moulding (Blagg et al, 2004, pg 92, figure 62, plate 39). It is 14.76mm in length, 18.35mm in width and 2.32g in weight.

A fragment Roman copper-alloy Colchester Derivative Harlow Spring/double lug brooch dating to circa AD 43-70. It is T-shaped in plan. The extant elements of the brooch consist of the wings and part of the upper bow. The wings are hemispherical and open at the reverse. On the reverse, in the centre, is a double lug with upper and lower circular apertures. The pin is missing. The plano-convex in section bow tapers and is fragmentary and has a prominent median longitudinal ridge and two worn flanking incised grooves.  Length 15.7…

A complete Mesolithic flint tranchet axehead dating to circa 10000-4000 BC. It is broadly rectangular in plan and profile.  The long edges are roughly parallel with the blade. The dorsal face has a central ridge or spine running longitudinally from the butt to the to the tranchet flake. Coarse flaking covers both sides of the axehead. The blade has been formed by the removal of a final flake transversely across the dorsal face known as a tranchet flake.  The flint is now covered with iron staining. At the butt end, some cortex remains.
