A complete enamelled copper alloy harness fitting (toggle or cheek-piece) of late Iron Age to early Roman date, broadly 1st century AD, but probably more specifically to around the Roman campaigning period in Wales (47-78AD), broadly c. 60-80AD (Davis and Gwilt 2008, pg.164). The toggle is complete with the exception of minor damage to its terminals and enamel inlays.

It is formed from four loops joined at a central boss decorated with a stylised human head in relief. A complete Iron Age copper-alloy strap fitting dating to circa 1000 BC-AD 150. It is square shaped in plan with a plano-convex frame. At each corner on the rounded face of the frame are moulded rounded projections. Each projecting is decorated with incised grooves radiating from the centre giving the impression of a floral design.

A complete cast copper alloy strap union of Taylor and Brailsford's (1985) Type 1 of late Iron Age to early Roman date. The object has an openwork plate comprised of opposed convex crescents which join at their tips with a rounded opening at the centre created from their respective concave edges. There is no additional surface decoration. The reverse of the plate is flat. From either side of this plate project a pair of strap bars, held with circular lugs at either end.

Cast copper alloy fragment of a Roman horse harness fitting with remnants of inlaid red enamel decoration, c. AD 40 – 75.
This object consists of a flat, decorated plate with part of the hinge remaining and the remains of a catchplate on the reverse face. The decoration consists of an arch inlaid with red enamel, curving around a circle of inlaid black enamel. This decoration is consistant with other horse harness fittings of the same period, such as the Polden Hill Hoard (see here) and the Woore Hoard (LVPL-EB15B0).

A complete probably Iron Age copper alloy strap union, dating to c 100BC - AD100. The strap union is formed by two joined but addorsed curved central features with expanded, trumpet-like terminals that meet at their inner tips, so that they close and form a figure of eight, enclosing two small holes. The whole is bounded down each side by a narrow and rounded strap bar with pillow shaped expansions at the junction of bar and the centrepiece. The reverse is flat. The object appears to have been conserved in some way and now has a glossy grey patina.

An incomplete late Iron Age to early Roman, Type 1, cast copper alloy strap union dating c.100BC -AD100.
The object is formed of two conjoined openwork circles arranged one upon the other in a figure eight. To each side of each loop are the worn broken off ends of the terminals of a straight bar which would have run between them to accommodate the straps. The reverse of the object is flat. The object is worn and corroded, dark green in colour with pale green patches of corrosion.
Measurements: 25.33 mm long, 34.79 mm wide, 9.96 mm thick and weighs 17.33 grams.
