An incomplete post-Medieval pressed copper-alloy cap/headdress badge of the 102nd Regiment of Foot (Royal Madras Fusiliers). The badge probably dates c. 1862-c. 1881. The regiment was garrisoned on the Isle of Wight from about 1870-1876 when the badge was probably lost. The attachment slider/clip and the rising flames element are missing due to breaks. This badge was originally is in the form of a stylised old style hand grenade with rising flames.
