Around the raised outer are many parallel lines from the edge into the centre. A complete cast copper-alloy end-looped cosmetic pestle dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period, c. 1-200 AD.  It consists of a flattened sub-circular sectioned rod with one end pointed and the other demonstrating an integrally cast end-loop. It is plain with no decorative elements. It measures 49.38mm in length, 4.53mm in width and 8.95g in weight.  Similar examples can be found on the PAS database (SF-A3D5C7, SF-B6A85B SF-FADE94).

A cast copper alloy fragment, probably part of a late Early Medieval (Anglo-Scandinavian) cast copper-alloy cheek piece from a harness fitting dating to the 11th century AD (cf. Williams (2007) Type 1). The fragment comprises a curled loop with teardrop shaped aperture at the centre, part of a second aperture on one side (which the object has broken across) and four or more incomplete decorative projections running around the exterior edge. One side of the fragment has crudely incised geometric decoration in the form of two bands, possible devolved interlace or zoomorphic forms.

An incomplete Roman copper alloy enamelled disc brooch of moulded type, dating to the 2nd century AD. The brooch has three concentric ridges of retained metal, with the spaces between possibly once infilled with enamel, although no trace now remains. The circular recessed boss is now empty but may once have held either enamel or a glass setting. The reverse has a hinge lug holding a copper alloy hinge on an iron spindle and catchplate. The brooch has been bent across the mid line and the pin is missing.

Lead window came fragment. A short length of cast H-section window came with a trapped fragment of dark degraded glass at one end on one side. Patinated. This came would have permitted the setting of two small adjacent panes. The glass is reverting to its constituent ingredients, which is a feature of a medieval ‘forest’ glass made using potash, rather than the more robust soda glasses of earlier and later times. An incomplete cast copper alloy late Roman finger ring. This consists of the all-metal bezel, which is flat in profile and oval in plan, measuring c.12.5x9mm. The bezel has the remains of a motif of dots, arranged in a cross shape. The bezel is flat and thinner than the hoop of the finger ring. It may be part of a keeled ring, although this cannot be said for certain as most of the band is missing. A complete cast copper alloy Roman votive axehead. The axehead is sub-rectangular in plan. In profile, it is wedge-shaped, with the 'cutting end' being 0.80mm thick at the edge. The opposite (handle) end has a thickness of 3.56mm at the edge and is truncated by a flat, sub-rectangular face featuring an oval depression at its centre. The thicker end also has a transverse circular perforation all the way through, which sits near the top edge rather than centrally. A Modern lead cloth seal, most likely dating to the early 20th century, based on the lettering style. At the centre of one face are the letters HRT, topped with a scroll. The legend around the edge reads [...] FT / BERGMANN [...] GEWERK, suggesting a German origin. On the other face is a design of crossed hammers or possibly crossed axes. The edges are heavily chipped and jagged. The seal has a uniform grey patina, with patches of rusty-brown corrosion. It has a thickness of 5.61mm and a diameter of 21.55mm. It weighs 11.96 grams.

An incomplete, bent and extremely corroded cast copper alloy Roman bow brooch of Colchester derivative two piece front-hooked type, dating to the first century AD. The arms are semi-cylindrical and there is a stump for a spring hook at the front of the head. The bow tapers and curves back from the head, with a sub rounded cross section and a ridged spine. The bow tapers to a triangular foot with a stump of a catchplate beneath.

An incomplete copper-alloy late Iron Age to early Roman looped toggle fastener. The toggle has a semi circular loop, 20.9mm wide, projecting from one long side of a cylindrical body. This body is 16.9mm in diameter, decorated with two incised circumferential bands and has a conical terminal with a small apical knop. One end of the body has broken away to reveal the hollow interior of the casting.
