Derivative Thurrock type Iron Age Potin coin, South Eastern, c. 100-50BC This coin is a cast potin (high tin bronze) coin that is towards the end of the Thurrock series of coins, minted in south eastern Britain from around 100BC. The original coins of this series copied Greek coins of Marseilles (Massalia) which had the head of Apollo on the obverse and butting bull on the reverse. No 000452 in the Celtic Coin Index is the closest parallel that can be found.
