A silver penny of David I, 1124-1153, probably Phase D with blunded legends, looks to be trying to copy the moneyer Folpolt at Berwick or possibly Willem. This is a variety that has no pellets in the angles, which is a known type of David son Earl Henry.

The reverse type is crescents enclosing a pellet rather an annulet, moneyer: uncertain,  mint: uncertain (probably Carlisle). Ref: Spink 2015, pg 10.  Diameter 21mm. Inscriptions illegible. The coin has been struck off centre on the flan.

A silver Medieval coin of Scotland; a penny of David I of Scotland (1124 - 1153), Period A (1136 - 1145), same type as for Henry I of England, type XV but in the name of David. It was minted at Carlisle after 1136. According to Seaby Volume 2, no coins appear to have been issued for David until 1136 when he and his son captured Carlisle and the nearby silver mine and working mint. Previously, Carlisle was an English mint. The moneyer of Henry I's last type (type XV) at Carlisle was Erebald and when new coins were issued for King David, the same reverse design was used. Scottish Medieval penny of Prince Henry, the Earl of Northumberland and Huntington, minted under King David I between c. 1135-52. David I got involved in the English Civil War because of Matilda (or Maud) and in 1138 David I's forces were soundly defeated at the battle of Cowton Moor near Northallerton by an alliance of northern English barons.
