A complete cast Medieval copper alloy rotary key, dating to c.AD 1100-1500.
Description: The key has a substantial circular bow which appears to be undecorated. There is no collar at the junction with the hollow stem, which is circular in cross section, The un-grooved bit lays in line with the bow. The sub-rectangular flat bit has a narrow cleft (10.65 mm) cut into it adjacent to the lower stem. On the opposite corner of the rectangle a stepped rectangular ward-cut, the remaining rectangular ward protrudes (14.41mm) from the cleft. The wards are distorted…

An incomplete cast copper-alloy brooch (Nauheim derivative) of Iron Age to Roman date (c.50BC-AD50).
Description: The brooch has a four-coiled spring with internal chord. The pin is broken near the coil. The spring and bow are rectangular in cross-section, tapering slightly to the pointed foot. There is a solid rectangular catchplate on the back of the foot. The brooch has a medium green patina and is bent at >90 degrees the bottom.

A copper alloy buckle.
The buckle, cast, is roughly rectangular in plan, trapezoid in cross section. There is decoration running around the perimeter of the internal frame in the form of diagonal grooves. Each corner of the outer edge of the frame ends in a point knop although one corner is truncated with the knop now missing. Centrally, along each shorter outer edge the frame curves in an ‘M’ shape.
The strap bar is truncated and missing. A slight indent present in the frame may indicate the original presence of a pin, now lost.
