A complete polychrome enamelled copper-alloy late Iron Age terret. The ring is a flattened oval-crescentic shape, increasing in width towards its apex. A complete copper-alloy late Iron Age to Roman zoomorphic strap or harness fitting. It is composed of two adjoining sections - a circular loop and a zoomorphic terminal that projects to one side. The loop is circular in cross-section and is 20mm in external diameter and 9.96mm thick. The zoomorphic terminal is shaped like an animal's head with a wide face and protruding, upwards-pointing snout. The central part of the artefact is comprised of two lunate forms arranged with the concave sides pushed together so as to create a figure-of-eight shape with circular aperture, of 14.6mm diameter, at the centre. A complete late Iron Age to Roman copper-alloy toggle dating c. 100 BC to AD 100. The toggle is of the dumbbell type comprising two globular hemispherical terminals, one larger than the other, joined by a waisted central circular shaft. The metal has a dark-green patina and patchy laminated areas that are light green in colour. The entire object is rather worn. The toggle measures 16.3mm in length.
