A complete copper alloy ball of probable Post-Medieval date (AD 1550-1900). The object is composed of a sphere of copper-alloy, with dark green glossy patina and minor surface pitting. The object’s function is unclear but could be a Gaming Piece or Ball Bearing.

The metal is dark green with a smooth patina.
Due to the lack wear marks, it seems more likely that this might be a Post-Medieval gaming piece.

The retained portion is sub-triangular with a convex edge on one side and a straight edge on the other. The front of the object is decorated with a heraldic design composed of a flat-topped shield with a lion rampant within. Around the shield are three foliage sprays. The back of the object retains a circular cross-sectioned integral stud within the centre of the plate.

An incomplete copper alloy Buckle of Post-Medieval date (AD 1600-1700). The object is a double loop rectangular buckle with moulded decoration on the loops. The object has ovoid knops on each external corner of the frame and a bifid knop on the outer edge of each loop, flanking the strap bar. The wire pin is partial retained recurved around the strap bar, it tapers to an abraded break.
