A lead incomplete Roman steelyard weight, dating to the period AD 43-410. It is incomplete insofar as it should have a suspension loop- most likely iron- inserted at the apex, which has since been lost. It is cast, and conical in shape, with a perforation at the centre of the weight, with a diameter of 4.75mm at the apex and 5.70mm at the base. The length is 35.42mm, though the uneven shaping at the top indicates a previously flattened surface which has since broken. The base has a diameter of 38.09mm, and in total this steelyard weight weighs 278.39g.

There is a wide circular hole through the centre, which sits slightly off-centre. The surface of the metal is corroded.
