An incomplete cast semi-flat lead toy of Post Medieval date, c. AD 1799 - 1899.
Description: The toy is a large semi-flat quadruped, possibly a bear, naturalistically modelled. The toy retains all of it's defined body and the shorts stubs of it's legs, one possibly showing a foot. The head is broken and distorted, appearing from the bright wear marks to have been recently broken off. The reverse of the toy is the same and has a small stone concretion in the fold between the body and back legs.

Fragment of Post Medieval cast lead alloy possible toy, c.AD 1800-1900.
This item is a tiny, hollow tube with three regular lines of square-profiled dots and two parallel lines running beneath these. The size and shape of this item strongly suggests it was part of a toy rifle designed to be able to fire, however there is too little remaining to be certain of this conclusion.

A cast copper-alloy toy miniature canon of late post-medieval date c.17th or 18th century AD.
This toy cannon comprises a circular barrel that tapers from bulbous knop (cascabel button) at one end, to the muzzle at the other. Two trunnions, which are round in section, project from a collar midway along the barrel. These would have enabled the piece to be elevated and mounted onto a wooden wheeled carriage such as that depicted in Bailey (1993, 37, No. 12), though no carriage associated with this find. Both trunions survive, expanding from a slightly thickened collar. A small per…

The mounted rider, the head, tail and lower part of each leg is missing. The horse's left foreleg and right hind leg are raised giving the impression that it is in a trotting posture. The remains of both right legs have been bent beneath the body of the horse. The moulded saddle with blanket roll to the rear remain, although the right side is damaged. There is a small circular hole in the middle of the saddle, which would have attached the rider.

An incomplete cast lead-alloy toy miniature cannon of post-medieval date (c. AD 1600 - 1850).
Description: This toy cannon is of typical form, although is not typical in structure, which is more usually copper alloy. The cascabel probably had a globular knob but this has been lost and shows as merely a raised and indented end with hole through to the barrel. The first reinforce has a prominent rim from which the barrel tapers slightly then expands into a raised line to form the second reinforce. There is no visible touch hole apart from the open ended cascabel. The trunnions are …

A complete and worn cast copper-alloy toy chalice or cup of unknown date, likely dating from post-medieval to modern times.
Description: The toy takes the form of a pedestal cup or chalice shaped with a short stem and small circular foot and a globular body. It is mottled green and brown and shows signs of being slightly worn.
Measurements: Diameter 17.52mm, height 23.24mm, thickness 2.09mm.

An incomplete post medieval cast copper alloy toy pistol / petronel c.1600-1800. The toy that replicates the match-lock weapons of the 16th century is 67.4mm long with the barrel being hexagonal shaped with elongated sides and tapers gradually to the muzzle end, where there is a ram-rod in the end of the barrel, now corroded and fixed solid. There is a break at the butt end that would probably have been a larger triangular butt, replicating the section that would have been held against the chest when firing this type of weapon in real life. Weight 18.4g. Similar to published record SF7122.
