An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval to Post Medieval finger ring, dating to AD 1450-1600. It has a broken circular hoop, which has an oval cross-section and flares gradually at the shoulders to form an oval and flat bezel. The bezel has an engraved line border enclosing an incised motif depicting the letters T and possibly (I), with floral motifs above and below.
Signet rings with initials became increasingly common in the 15th and 16th century, see Saunders (1991, Part 1, pp. 40-46).

A fragmentary gold ring of suspected Medieval (c 1200 - 1500) date, with a single cabochon amethyst set into an oval bezel. The hoop has an internal diameter of 18.6mm and is made of flat sheet gold, which expands to meet the bezel and has moulded flanking borders at the shoulders. The bezel is 4.6mm high and 8.6mm wide and is made from thin sheet gold which forms a compartment around the unworked and sub-rounded amethyst stone. The bezel has concave moulding around its circumference.

An incomplete, copper alloy stirrup shaped finger ring of Medieval date, about AD 1150-1450. The hoop is circular and flares towards the bezel which has trapezoidal sides. There is an oval recess for a missing gem. The patina is green and brown. It is 24.9mm long, 20.7mm wide and 3.6mm thick. It weighs 2g. The loop has an internal diameter of 16.7mm. The bezel and part of the hoop of a silver-gilt finger ring.
The bezel is bi-faceted, divided by a central ridge to each side of which it is concave with smaller ridges at each edge. Each facet is decorated with incised lines marking out three triangles on each side, bases on the outer edge, points towards the central ridge. These define two complete and two half lozenges flanking the central ridge. Each triangle contains a few closely spaced, parallel, straight lines. The ring has a rectangular bezel divided in two by a central longitudinal ridge. To each side of the ridge is incised a figure, a plain robed figure on the left with a palm in their left hand and line at the waist for a belt and a halo’d figure on the right, possible kneeling left at a bench with their hands raised in prayer.

The hoop of the finger ring has three panels, depicted as scrolls with black letter nielo inscriptions. Between each panel are three circular bosses. The inscription reads: good bere bourd.
The finger ring has an external diameter of 21.2 mm and an internal one of 17.5 mm. The Hoop is 4.7 mm wide and 2.4 mm thick. The panels are 11.4 mm long. It weighs 3.0 g.

A complete post medieval, silver 'fede' finger ring. The bezel depicts two hands clasped together, the details of the fingers are picked out with shallow incised lines. Flanking the hands on both sides are rectangular shaped cuffs. The cuffs are decorated with incised traverse lines, one at the top and two lines at the bottom. The outer edge has a fleury design with an inscription of “YUR COURIUR or COUENIR” in blackletter script. The inside of the band is plain. It is also possible that the inscription is ‘MON COEUR’ or something similar, though the blackletter is difficult to decipher.

The object is composed of a strip of silver with a punched and incised decorative pattern and a now missing separate applied bezel. Description: Fragment of medieval gilded silver gem-set finger ring. The bezel is oval, and in side view is widest around the centre. The upper half has a concave curve up to a tall collet with a pentagonal top in which a purple cabochon gemstone is set. An incomplete copper-alloy finger ring of late medieval to early post medieval date, c. AD 1400 - 1600. The bezel is ovate with a deeply incised design on the upper surface. The design can no longer be determined due to damage and wear. To either side of the bezel the shoulders taper into the arms of an ovate sectioned hoop. Both arms are broken and worn.
The metal has a dark green patina and is worn. The finger ring is 27.7mm long, 10mm wide, 3mm thick and weighs 3.9g.
