A complete post medieval two piece copper alloy button, dating between AD 1700-1800 The body of the button is conical, with a rounded apex, part of the rim being slightly bent inwards. Both the interior and exterior surfaces of the button are plain and undecorated. A loop of copper wire is fixed to the apex of the interior of the button, and is bent toward the rim of the button. The button is dark brown in colour Dimensions: height: 9.27mm,  diameter: 16.94mm,  weight: 2.50g For illustrated examples of similar buttons, see Bailey (2004) pp80.

An incomplete Post-Medieval copper alloy composite dandy button dating c. 1700-1800. The object is very worn and corroded  and consists of a flat circular plate with concentric decoration comprising an inner circular recess and ann outer annular recess which has a separate metal annular plate in the base. A cmplete copper alloy (tombac) button of probable Post Medieval date, about AD 1700 - 1800. The button comprises a circular disc with a plain flat front. On the reverse is a truncated cone from which projects the wire attachment loop. The button is grey and slightly reflective, with some copper corrosion on the loop.  Diameter: 19.40mm; thickness: 8.67g and weight: 3.52g.  The form is suggestive of an 18th century date (Bailey, Buttons and Fasteners, page 40).

It is decorated with a central recessed dot, around which there is a single concentric circle. The recessed dot suggests the ring was compass inscribed. An incomplete Post Medieval to Modern silver biconical button dating to the mid eighteenth to mid 19th century. The solid cast button is almost spherical in plan and slightly biconical in profile. On the reverse is an oval depression that would have held an attachment loop that is now missing. Measurements: diameter: 10.90mm; height: 8.85mm and weight: 4.56g. A Post Medieval incomplete pewter (tombac) button dating AD 1600 - 1700. The button is plain except for a pimple in the centre of the top. The underside is flat with iron staining and the small remains of an iron loop. The button has a silver coloured patina. The button measures 13.22mm diameter, 5.77mm thick and weighs 3.8grams. It has a separate circular flat reverse with a centrally placed circular copper alloy wire attachment/sewing loop. Measurements: Diameter: 12.36mm; thickness excluding loop: 9.27mm; thickness including loop: 13.36mm; weight: 1.67g. Similar examples can be found in Bailey (2004) p. 77 which date to the eighteenth century.
