A complete copper-alloy button dating to the Post-Medieval period, c. AD 1700-1900. The front of the button consists of a hollow domed head and the back has an opening 6.8mm in diameter. The button's shank is fixed to the inside of the dome through this opening, with only the sewing / attachment loop protruding. The button is in generally good condition. Dimensions: Diameter of button head 14.9mm, length (Including loop) 14.9mm (excluding loop) 12.1mm, and weight 3.9g.

A worn and incomplete copper alloy "dandy" button, 35.3mm in diameter, with a decorative border comprising punched circles containing clusters of four pellets contained in the convex lobes of a scalloped outer border. On the basis of comparable examples such as SUR-6D62E9 and SUR-3FA01B this was likely once gilded. The reverse is plain and has lost its attachment loop. Circa 18th century.

An incomplete lead alloy (tombac) button dating from the Post Medieval period, about AD 1600 - 1700. It has a solid circular head with a small pimple or dot on the apex. In profile it is D shaped. The reverse is flat with a scar from the missing attachment loop which was probably of wire. It is 14.61mm diameter, 6.39mm thick and weighs 5.41g. The metal is grey with a slight green tinge to the patina. Compare examples in Buttons & Fasteners by Gordon Bailey, Page 35.

The button is discoidal in plan with a convex front and concave reverse. The outer face is undecorated. On the reverse is a simple looped shank that appears to be integral. An incomplete Post Medieval to Modern silver biconical button dating to the mid eighteenth to mid 19th century. The solid cast button is almost spherical in plan and slightly biconical in profile. On the reverse is an oval depression that would have held an attachment loop that is now missing. Measurements: diameter: 10.90mm; height: 8.85mm and weight: 4.56g. Similar examples have been recorded on the database e.g.DUR-04967A and SUSS-5A4944.

A cast copper alloy discoidal button of early post medieval date, 24.4mm in diameter with three drilled holes and no other decoration. The reverse has a small semi-circular integrally cast loop shank. It is unclear whether the holes were merely decorative or perhaps allowed attachment of some sort of decorative facing, perhaps of cloth or other organic material. See also Read (2005) number 116 for a very similar example from Lincolnshire.

A biconvex composite copper alloy button of post medieval (c.17th-18th century) date, in two pieces. The button is circular with a die-stamped facing which is decorated with an arcuate octofoil or eight-pointed star which encompasses a four-pointed star with small fleur-de-lys between the rays. Around this motif is a border containing annulets and double-c motifs. The separate reverse plate has two blow holes and a wire loop shank.

A silver three-piece decorated composite button of post Medieval date. The front is now separated from the rear and has been crushed. It has die-stamped and engraved decoration comprising a six petalled flower, with incised petals radiating from a central octofoil boss which is cast in relief.
