A worn complete copper-alloy Heraldic shield-shaped pendant of Medieval date. The object has a shield shaped upper face with an heraldic device of three lions rampant couchant. It has knops around the shield one at the point of the shield , one at each shoulder. On one edge there is a knop between those at shoulder and the point. It looks as though the matching knop on the other side has broken off. There is a trace of gilding. The reverse of the object is concave. A complete, shield shaped, copper alloy harness pendant dating from the Medieval period, AD 1200 - 1400. The heraldic design is of a lion rampant on a field of enamel, but the original colours are lost. There is a flat, integral suspension arm, pierced with a circular hole at the upper end, set at right angles to the plane of the body. The pendant is 28.5mm long, 16mm wide and 5.3mm thick. It weighs 3.36gm.
