An incomplete cast copper alloy stand of Roman date. Stands such as this have been interpreted as votive model altars and is one tier of a probable three tiered object. The altar is square in plan with a flat top and hollow base and four small worn knops projecting from each corner of the upper surface which would have allowed the stand to secure into holes in the legs of an upper tier. The sides of the object are decorated with a recessed square with a saltaire cross, the resulting cells of which are infilled with enamel. Six of the total 16 cells retain their red enamel and are the …

A cast copper alloy miniature axe, probably a votive object. The axe has a flat bladed cutting edge set perpendicular to the main body of the axe and the shaft hole. The axe is in good condition and has a deep brown patina. Although most miniature or votive axes are assigned to the Roman period, there is suggestion that some pre-date this era; the style and patina on this object does suggest an earlier date.

A cast copper alloy Roman miniature axe, possibly intended as a votive object. The axe consists of the shaft or handle and the triangular axe head. The butt end of the axe protrudes from the back of the handle. On one side of the axe are two incised lines arranged in a cross, etched into the object and intended to represent the bindings used to secure the axehead to the handle. The object is worn but in good condition. Miniature objects are found throughout the Roman period, therefore a broad date of AD 43 - 410 is given.
