A complete copper alloy Mount of Roman date (AD 43-410). The object is pelta shaped with a rectangular cross-section. the outer terminals are rounded and expanded, the central terminal has a flat terminal. The back of the object retains an integral circular rivet. Height: 9.81mm, Width: 15.48mm, Thickness: 4.40mm, Weight: 1.1g The metal is mid-green in colour with a pitted patina . The object is zoomorphic in form, cast in three dimensions with moulded characteristics akin to a bear or boar including round ears, a rounded snout and closed mouth. The face is broadly sub-rectangular in plan with flat sides. A small peltate silver mount. The simply moulded outer face is worn. The unworn inner face preserves two rivets, one retaining a tiny circular silver washer. The very short rivets indicate that the mount was secured to something very thin, perhaps to a thin-walled vessel.

This artefact weighs 5.17g, has a length, from tip of beak to tip of tail, of 31.6mm, width of 6.2mm and has a height, probably/possibly incomplete, of 19.7mm. The bird has a height, from tummy to head, of 14.3mm, the rest of the height being accounted for by the presence of an oval cross-sectioned projection directly below the body of the bird. Cast copper alloy mount of Roman date. Two plain, slighty domed lobes connected by a smaller lobe, which has two grooves across the surface. The length is 25mm, the terminal lobes are 9mm wide, the centre lobe is 6.5mm wide. The reverse has a prong at each end. The prong is rectangular in section. Each lobe is broken.

A fragment of cast copper alloy decorated mount. Evidently a cornerpiece, with two stright edges meeting at a 90 degree angle. One edge terminates in a rounded lobe before continuing towards a break to the main body of the piece. Some linear decoration is visible and also a circular rivet hole, 1.6mm in diameter, close to the corner. Corrosion has sealed the hole closed. The reverse is flat and plain.
