A piece of copper alloy casting waste, metal working debris or slag of unknown period, Bronze Age to Post-Medieval in date (about 2000 BC - AD 1800). In shape, the waste is an irregularly shaped mass which is also irregular in section. The surface is rough and granular. There are some black inclusions and a brown rounded pellet. The waste has a mid green mottled patina. Measurements; length 43.9mm, width 41.7mm, thickness 11.4mm, weight 47.0g.

A large piece of iron tap slag of uncertain date, probably Roman to Post Medieval, about AD 43 - 1600. It is dense, magnetic and black to purple in colour with some rusty patches. It forms a thick plate which is rough and irregular on the lower face and sides, with characteristic runs of solidified molten metal across the top face. Both ends of the piece are broken. It is a shiny light grey material, light in weight for its size, very soft (can be scratched with a finger nail), and it has a soapy feel. One face is irregular with many rounded particles, some of which are magnetic, and small holes. The other faces are smooth and fine grained, with conchoidal fractures. The piece is 41.3mm long, 33.3mm wide and 16.2mm thick. 14.5g.

The material is pale grey in the centre; one surface is blackened and the other surface is dark brown in colour; it has a rough and pitted surface, glossy in places, with a purple sheen.
