Copper alloy radiate (with some surviving silvering) of Carausius (AD 286-93) (Reece Period 14), FIDES EXERCIT, Four standards. C Mint, - // SPC. RIC V, pt  2, p. 489. no. 223.  It does appear that this is the first example of this coin known with this obverse legend - IMP C CARAVSIVS AVG - because RIC was confusing two other coins.  This is probably the first example of this precise type seen.

A silver Roman denarius of Carausius (AD 286-293), dating to the period AD 286-293 (Reece period 14). ADVENTVS AV(ICIII or IIIII) reverse type depicting Carausius, draped, cuirassed, riding left, raising right hand and holding  sceptre in left hand. Mint unclear. The exergue is almost entirely off the flan, so it is not possible to determine if the exergue is clear or marked with RSR. The reverse legend is normally ADVENTVS AVG, but the end of the legend is blundered, However, the coin is regular.  RIC V, pt 2, p. 508, cf. no.…

A denarius of Carausius dating to the period AD 286 to 293 (Reece Period 14), PAX AVG, Pax standing left with branch and vertical sceptre. Unattributed mint. The obverse legend is likely to be [IMP CAR]AVSIVS P F AVG which equates to RIC V, pt 2, Carausius 719.  This is the third example of this particular type in Sam Moorhead's corpus for the new RIC on Carausius, but has no die-links with the other coins. There are eight denarii with this PAX AVG reverse type. Diameter: 17.3mm Weight: 3.23g

RIC V, pt 2 - It is quite possible that this is a base silver contemporary copy of an ADVENTVS AVG denarius of Carausius, a type which is common.  There is another similar coin with legend NEVENTVS NI[ ], and mintmark RSR, in the Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge) which might share the same source - it also is a rather crude piece.  Both coins do need XRF analysis to determine silver content.&nb…

A flat and irregularly shaped copper-alloy Roman barbarous radiate, probably copying a coin of one of the Gallic emperors, perhaps Tetricus I or II, dating to the period c.AD 275-285 (Reece period 14). Reverse type depicting Spes walking left holding flower and skirt. Unclear mint prototype.  This coin is struck on a quite thick and irregular flan with quite crude dies, is lacking legends on both faces. It is most plausibly a crude, irregular contemporary copy of a Roman radiate rather than anything else. It measures 23.8mm in length, 16.8mm in width, and 3.3mm in thickenss.
