Medieval (c. AD1200-1350) lead seal matrix of unusual crudity. It appears to have been roughly cut from a piece of sheet lead and lacks any handle or fittings. On one face is a lighly incised cross around which is a deeply incised inscription '+ S' RICI/ RVC'.Length 29.9mm, Width 16.3mm, Thickness 3.0mm, Mass, including sleeve, 9.48g. The crudity of this object is striking, and one can only speculate for whom, and why, it was made.

Medieval book clasp of Howsam type A.2, dating to c. 1300-1450. The clasp is made from cast copper alloy and is functionally a strap end of composite 'forked spacer' type (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, 140-146). Two plates, set either side of the fork, form a socket for the strap. Traces of the solder that secured them are present. In front of the fork is a 20.0mm diameter, hemispherical boss, its face marked by six, incised, radiating lines, linked by curved lines. Early Medieval cloisonné enamel brooch. Gilt cast copper alloy with pseudo filigree and granulation. In its centre is a 15.5mm diameter x 2.0mm high collet containing enamel/glass inlay. This consist of four, rectangular pieces of pale blue glass arranged to form a cross. Between these elements are four keystone shaped pieces of dark blue glass which may have been made up of smaller pieces or have been fragmented. Medieval harness pendant, copper alloy, shield shaped with an integral loop set on a bar on one side. On the face of the pendant is the outline of a butterfly or moth set against white enamel, the thorax is marked with transverse lines, four wings are shown, marked with one, or three dots. Two antenae are shown. A gold butterfly on a red background was the badge of the Audley family, with lands in Essex. Early Medieval buckle and plate, copper alloy, the frame in the form of an elongated oval with a 2.7mm diameter circular section. The disc is made from gilt copper alloy and was decorated with cloisonne inlay, the stones are missing from the central and surrounding three cells which are in the form of conjoined trapezoids. Early Medieval fitting decorated in the 'Quoit Brooch Style'. The fitting consists of a hollow, D sectioned tube, 12.8 x 8.3mm on one side of which is an integrally cast loop. Early Medieval Irish harness mount, cast copper alloy with a gilded face bearing panels of reticulate interlace. The mount is cruciform, its four arms set around a central roundel.
