A circular lead disc, possibly a box lid dating to the period c. AD 1300-1400. The disc is decorated on one side only with a shield bearing three lions passant guardant facing right (the arms of England) with a palm branch along each side of the shield and an illegible inscription or decoration around. The reverse is plain and undecorated. On one side of the disc, at the lower point of the shield, are two flattened loops, probably hinge lugs.

A complete Post-Medieval lead alloy toy doll, dating to c.AD 1500 - 1650. The doll is in the form of a female figure, both sides of the doll are decorated, the decoration is different on the front and back.

Post Medieval lead alloy shy cock in the shape of a cockerel. The flat figurine and it's thick oval base are a single cast piece. Shy cocks seem to have been a British phenomena that were popular from the late fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries. This one is unusual as it appears to be decorated on both sides. A similar looking example is illustrated as Type 1 Design 1 in Toys, Trifles & Trinkets 1200-1800 (Forsyth, H. & Egan, G., 2005, p.240, fig.7.1). Suggested date range c1700 to c1800 AD.

The figurine depicts a seated male. He is presented with hair that covers his ears and a full beard. The arms are incomplete and are positioned apart and protruding forwards. Both arms terminate in a worn break just after the elbow. In the seated position, the knees are tilted together and one foot protrude from under the clothing. The other foot is missing. An incomplete unusual lead alloy flat pointed oval 'vessica' seal matrix of the medieval period, probably 14th century.
This is a flat seal matrix, shaped as a pointed oval. It is 34.5mm long, 23.1mm wide, 4.3mm thick (excluding the loop) and weighs 13.2g. The surfaces are a mid-brown colour with a buff-coloured patina, particularly on the reverse and in the recesses of the die.

This is a lead alloy seal matrix that has an oval plate. On the reverse is a rectangular rearwardly projecting plate (14mm wide, 10mm high and 4mm deep). That has a circular hollow on the top right edge, this is probably forming the top of a shaft that would ring the height of the projection, unfortunately the lower edge is encrusted in mud which covers any exit of the shaft, although a small circular depression is viable on the lower edge that would correspond with the upper hollow. This shaft may have held a binding cord or wire.

A lead alloy Papal bulla. One the reverse are the faces of Saints Peter and Paul moulded in bas relief. St. Peter is on the right facing left, he has a rounded face, with beard and hair formed from pellets. St. Paul is seen on the left looking right, with a long pointed beard made of teardrop shapes of decreasing size nested within each other, and hair of wavy lines. It is flask-shaped in plan with a rounded base from which a slgihtly narrower, rectnagular, neck protrudes that widens slightly close to its mouth. D-shaped suspension loops project from either side of the neck formed from a horizontal lead strip. The ampulla is sub-rectangular in cross section. 1) This piece is thimble-shaped with a wide, concave shaped base tapering up the body towards the top, it is also hollow. The seal matrix is flat and circular in shape with around on third of the outer rim missing. In the centre is a linear plain cross with a pellet in each quadrant and framed by a circle The surrounding retrograde (anti-clockwise) inscription reads +S' IOhIS hOGGE. translating as the seal of John Hogge. The long latin initial cross is unusual and this has been marked a local/county find of note.The reverse has an integral pierced lug set near the rim.

This fragment only depicts the head of the saint wearing his bishop's mitre. The mitre appears to have a textured design made of cross hatched lines with less dense cross hatching in the head band. An incomplete cast lead alloy form or model for the manufacture of a two part Colchester derivative Polden Hill brooch of early Roman date (80-120 AD).
Usually these types of brooches date to the 1st to 2nd century, when they are made from copper alloy. However, this brooch is made from lead or lead alloy, and was made as the first stage to manufacturing brooches. Therefore they are rare and this only the sixth recorded example on the PAS database.
