A silver penny of Henry II dating to the period AD 1180 - 1189. Short cross reverse. Moneyer Alain V. Mint of London. Class 1. North Vol 1, p.220, no.962/4. The coin was broken roughly in half at time of discovery though broke in half again subsequently. It has been sellotaped together by the finder and cannot be removed safely due to its fragility.

The unusual style of A, (more similar to coins of Class 7b) is perhaps paralleled by no. 311 (class 1b2) and no.608 (class 1c) in the Mass collection both issued by Raul at London (Mass 2001).
