A complete, folded silver groat of Edward III (1327 to 1377) dating to the period 1354 to 1355. North Number 1164.
The obverse depicts a forward facing crowned bust within a tressure of arches. This is a standard type F reverse type. The legend is quite obscured due to the bending of the coin but it would read EDWARD [D G REX ANGL Z FRANC D HYB].
The reverse depicts a long cross with three pellets in each quarter. There are two legends, the outer legend reads [POSVI]/DEVM.A/DIVTOR/[E]MEV[M] and the inner legend reads CIVI/TAS/EBO/RACI.
