A silver ?clipped? hammered penny of Henry IV (1399-1413). This coin dates to the Light Coinage period (1412-1314). Obverse shows a forward facing crowned bust with an annulet on the breast. The initial mark and the beginning of the obverse legend is clipped but reads [HENRIC] REX ANGLI[E]. Double saltire stops also present in the obverse legend. The reverse shows a solid long cross with 3 pellets in each quadrant. At the centre of the main reverse cross is a quatre-foil with a pellet at the centre. Reverse legend reads CIVI/TAS/[EBO/R]ACI. Obverse: HENRIC[DI GRA REX ANGL Z F]RANC [D]N[S HIB Z AQ]; King standing facing in a ship, crowned an wearing armour. Holding a sword and shield quartered with the arms of England and France.
Reverse: [DOMINE NE IN] FVRORE TVO ARGVAS [ME]; floriated cross with a lis at the end of each limb and an ornamented compartment in the center. In each angle, a lion passant, guardant, with a crown above. All within a tressure of eight arches.
Trefoil in fourth quarter of reverse.
