A silver Medieval farthing of David II of Scotland ( AD 1329- 1371), first coinage, dating to c. AD 1329-1333. The obverse die is of type C and the reverse type is an unrecorded example (see notes below) Possibly mint of Berwick. Seaby 1983, p.16, no. 5086.

A Scottish penny of David II (1329-1371), of the second issue small letters variety with four mullets of six points, the mint is unknown but most likely Edinburgh as Berwick was under English control at the time. The coin can be dated to c. AD 1351-57. Obverse: DA[VI]D DEI [GRACIA]; crowned bust left. Reverse: [RE]X SCOTTORVM; long cross dividing legends, a mullet in each quarter. Dimension: 17mm in diameter, 0.90g, clipped.
