A silver Post-Medieval sixpence of Charles II (AD 1660-1685) dated to the period AD 1674-1684. Crowned cruciform shields reverse. Mint of London. The coin is very worn and displays two sub-parallel straightned folds suggesting it may have been repurposed as a love token. DUR-735B12 notes that: "Love tokens' were made using coins dating from the time of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603) to the reign of Anne (AD 1702-1714) with some Georgian examples and some as late as the Victorian period. A Post Medieval milled silver coin of Charles II (AD 1660 - 1685); a threepence dating from AD 1679. The coin is pierced with a large hole punched through the back of the King's neck, having a diameter of 2.7mm. Compare number 3386 on page 339 of Spink's Standard catalogue (2011). Measurements are; diameter 17.3mm, thickness 0.8mm and weight 12.44g. The perforation has a diameter of 2.7mm.

A contemporary forgery of a George III Halfpenny confirmed by Greg Spink of Spinks London. Apparently common around this possible date of 1775 (the last digit in exergue is not fully identifiable). The most identifying detail is the bust which is not George III in comparison to any of the issues. Obverse shows uniformed bust facing right with GEORGIVS III REX. Reverse shows Britannia seated left with BRITAN NIA.
