Copper alloy halfpence of King George III. Obverse laurate and cuirassed bust right, legend GEORGIVS III REX with stops between phrases. Reverse Britannia, date under probably AD 1774 inscribed BRITAIN NIA with stop. Die axis 6 o'clock. Little remains of the outer milled edge which is very worn. A silver shilling of George II (1727 to 1760), dating to 1758. Minted at the London Mint. C.f. Spink, 2011, p 401, no 3704. Coin has been pierced at 11 o'clock on the obverse. Diameter: 25.4 mm Thickness: 1.3 mm Weight: 5.8 g This coin is less than 300 years old, and although it has been pierced, there is no other evidence that it was removed from circulation to function as a pendant. As such, it falls outside of the requirements of the Treasure Act 1996 and should be considered to be Not Treasure.

A Post Medieval copper alloy coin bent in two places to make an S shape, probably to form a love token. The coin is a halfpenny of George III, first issue, dated 177[-]. The obverse is illegible, possibly smoothed off for the new purpose. The reverse shows Britannia with a date in the exergue, but the last digit is unclear. It may be a 5. Spink Standard catalogue number 3774. The database has many examples of love tokens, with more information in record SWYOR-8A8437 for example. The object is 27.2mm long, 23.4mm wide, 4.2mm thick and weighs 5.77g.
