A Medieval silver long cross halfpenny of Edward III (AD 1327-1377), Third (Florin) Coinage, dating to AD 1344-1351. Withers Type 13 (x) - or possibly 12 (vi). North (1991: 48) no. 1132.
There is a small quatrefoil or cross pommée in one of the reverse quarters, under the T of TAS; and it is likely, although not very clear, that there is another under the L of LON (the area is worn but slightly raised, indicating the presence of an additional pellet or object). There is damage over the central fleur of the crown, rendering the shape difficult to identify. The chubby cheeks…
