A hammered silver coin dating from the Medieval period: a cross-and-crosslets type 'Tealby' penny of Henry II (1154-1189) probably Bust C or E dating from AD 1161 - 1170. It has a maximum diameter of 20.40mm and a thickness (it is slightly bent) of 1.77mm. It weighs 1.34g. The coin is creased; it was found bent in two at and acute angle, but not bent double, and has been straightened post-recovery. The coin was probably minted by Robert at Ipswich. The moneyer is probably Turstain who minted only at Ipswich although details of the mint name are missing. Probably Bust F, minted c.1170-80; Coin Reference: North, volume I, number 960-1.
