An incomplete Roman cast copper alloy headstud brooch dating to c.AD 75-200. The wings are semi-circular in cross-section and rectilinear in form. The wing cap on one side is decorated with incised linear lines, the parallel decoration on the other end is worn and not visible. The reverse of the wings has a central notch for the missing pin. The bow springs out the wings; it is D-shaped in cross-section and has an accentuated curved bow that is flat on the side, narrowing to a flattened foot. A fragment of a copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) strap end of Thomas Class E, Type 1 dating to the period c. AD 1000 - 1100.
