Fragment of a medieval pottery aquamanile in hard reduced sandy lead-glazed ware: the spout is in the form of a dog's head and collared neck with the impressed details of eyes, teeth and nostrils. The ears survive only as stubs and are surrounded by dots within grooves that extend down between the eyes to form a loop filled with dots. The head has been inserted into the neck, which would have formed part of the main body during manufacture. The collar is formed from an applied strip.
