Two sherds from pottery vessels of Medieval date with a combined total weight of 101.97g. 1) A sherd from a strap handle that is oval shaped in section with a dark grey/black fabric that contains many sandy inclusions. The surfaces are fired to a pale orange colour and the exterior is decorated with parallel rows of punched oval shaped indentations that in some cases pierce the entire handle and are visible on the back face. A ceramic rim sherd of a Samian, Dragendorff type 27 cup (c. AD 43-c. AD 160). The sherd has a plain beaded rim, with an internal groove just below the rim. The breaks are old and abraded. 16.3 x 18.6mm. Weight: 2.28g. This type of vessel occurred throughout the 1st century and went out of production c. AD 150-160, except perhaps in a few East Gaulish factories (Webster: 1996: 38, ref: 27).

A sherd from the body of a Medieval coarse grey ware (MCW) vessel with thumbed decoration along one side of the sherd. It is similar to Hollesley wares and is probably from a large bowl. The sherd has a grey/brown fabric with many small gritty inclusions and with slightly blackened surfaces. It measures 63.43mm in length, 65.71mm in width, 6.70mm in thickness, and weighs 30.76g. It is of Medieval date, c.12th-14th centuries AD.

A pot sherd of probable Roman origin, being typical of the Severn Valley ware, found in the Welsh borders region. This small sherd has the typical red/orange outer surface with a grey core. The sherd consists of a coarse gritted material with an abundance of grit, grog with a scattering of micaceous and iron ore type deposits.

This is a medieval rim sherd of possible Malvernian glazed ware. This sherd has the typical red/grey colouration of the ware with the remnant of a fine green/yellow glaze just visible on the exterior surface. The material has rock or grit type filling, along with abundant small quartz particles, typical of the type. There are clear lines from the wheel-thrown process but no sign of decoration on this sherd.

A ceramic rim sherd of a plain Samian Dragendorff type 15/17 platter. (c. AD 43-c. AD 96). The sherd has a plain, almost upright rim, with an internal quarter-round moulding at the junction of the wall and the floor (the floor musing). The surface has been damaged in places, clearly marked where the slip is missing and the lighter fabric is revealed beneath. This vessel is pre-Flavian and was probably made in Central Gaul at Les Martres-de-Veyre (Webster: 1996: 30, ref: 15/17A).
