Medal bar from the Territorial War Force Medal (1914-19). An oblong, copper alloy medal bar covered in ribbon which is yellow with two narrow green stripes vertically through it. Two copper alloy fixing rings are still present on the rear. The bronze medal would have depicedt George V on the front, with 'Territorial War Medal' and 'For Voluntary Service Overseas 1914-19' on the reverse. "…within the mass, wrapped in coarse-weave material". The textile therefore seems to have been found within the mass of the corroded coins (described as a pear-shaped lump from within the pot, which was broken on discovery. Miss A. Henshall examined the fragments of textile and provided the following report on them: 'The textiles consist of a number of very small fragments, the largest measuring about ½ x ¾ in. Linen. There are three main textile fragments, which are pale green in colour with brighter green patches and particles on the surface.
