Two fragments of Roman tegula tiles. Both have part of the side and base which are at right angles and have lost the lower side of the base making the original thickness unclear. One has a straight side which tapers from 18.5mm at one end to 14.8mm at the other and is 16.5mm tall measured from the upper side of the base although the top is irregular and maybe broken. The other has a flat top which meets the straight outer side at a sharp 90 degree angle but on the inner side it is an even curve and curves inwards slightly before it joins the base. Three fragments of late 13th to 15th century peg tile. The fragments has fresh breaks suggesting they have been recently exposed and not redeposited by the sea. Fragment 1 is bright orange with few visible inclusions and weighs 17 grams. Fragment 2 is pale brown on the outside and pale grey within and sand tempered. It weighs 46 grams. Fragment 3 is pale oraange with grog, chalk and sand inclusions. It weighs 41 grams.
