Neolithic knapped flake, c.4000-2000 BC. It is a sub rectangular section of a longer flake, with bulb of percussion at one end. The edges of this ventral surface expand just am little towards the break and the face shows concentric ripples. On the dorsal surface there are flake scars and two roughly parallel longitudinal flake scar ridges down the middle, leaving lower left and right margins as 'beveled' edges with abrupt retouch. There is a possible notch on the left distal edge.

Two hard hammer struck flakes: short flake of unpatinated mottled grey flint with orange staining on and just below the cortical platform, struck through an internal linier flaw to the ventral face, appears to be debitage. L: 30.07 W: 25.3 T: 7.32 mm, 6g. Blade, struck from either an opposed platform core, or a multi-platform core of lightly patinated pale grey flint, the dorsal face has a flake scar that has stopped short and terminated in a hinge around the midway point, other flake scars have been struck from the opposing platform to try to undercut this hinge, these flake scars…

Three hard hammer struck flakes: Stout, sub-triangular tertiary flake, of unpatinated grey flint with fine, steep retouch to both lateral edges, one edge forming a neatly curved scraping edge, the distal end is partially stepped and is not retouched. L: 28.23 W: 29.63 x T: 8.10 mm, 7g. Tertiary, elongated flake of trapezoidal cross section, of mottled orange patinated flint, both lateral edges and the distal end are irregularly and steeply retouched. The dorsal face of the platform has been carefully trimmed of the overhang before this flake was struck from the core to avoid the bl…

A fragment of flint flake, possibly dating to the Neolithic period c. 4000 - 2500 BC. The flake is made from a tertairy flake of brown flint. The item is broken at the distal end, through the bulb of percussion leaving a sub-rectangular piece.  There may be some abrupt retouch on a small section of the ventral surface edge.  Removals from the dorsal surface could be the result of plough damage. Length: 17.7 mm Width: 13.4 mm Thickness: 4.4 mm Weight: 1.5 g

Tertiary flake, possibly dating to the Neolithic period. In plan the flake is closest to a rhomboid but for a protrusion of the proximal end where the bulb of percussion is visible. In section there is minimal curvature and only little variations in thickness. The flake is of a warm-grey to brown, and conchoidal ripples are visible on both faces. There is evidence of short parallel retouching on the mesal (noticeable on the right edge when facing the dorsal face).

A complete, tertiary flake/tool, semi-hard hammer struck (pronounced bulb of percussion, no bulbar scar), of sub-trapezoidal section. The dorsal face has several flake scars from a platform orientated 90 degrees from the main axis of striking, these appear to have been detached from the core before the main blow was struck to make this flake/tool, the result is one lateral edge pre-retouched with the terminations of oblique flake scars, the opposing edge is more of a knife-like cutting edge, all thin edges are now damaged (obscuring any original retouch) from the actions of the waves a…
