A complete copper-alloy Irish Halfpenny of George II (AD 1727-1760). Thew obverse features the young laureate bust of George II facing left. The obverse reads 'GEORGIUS.II.REX'. The reverse is very worn but features a crowned harp and the legend reads 'HIBERNIA 1742', the year in which the coin was minted.

This coin is less than 300 years old, and although it has been pierced, there is no other evidence that it was removed from circulation to function as a pendant. As such, it falls outside of the requirements of the Treasure Act 1996 and should be considered to be Not Treasure.

A copper alloy Post Medieval coin found embedded in a melted piece of lead. The coin is a half penny of George II dating from AD 1729 - 1754, and it is almost illegible. One edge of the coin is damaged. Spink number 3717 - 3719. The lead is irregularly shaped with rounded edges. One face has an impression of the bust from the coin in it, and there is a circular recess for the coin. The lead is not big enough to entirely cover the coin.
