An incomplete copper-alloy unidentified object, possibly a mount. It measures 15.61mm in diameter and weighs 0.7g. It is hemispherical is shape with a convex front and concave reverse. It is missing most of the outer edge/ rim due to old breaks. Both surfaces are plain. The colour of the patina suggests this could be of Roman date, but as it is uncertain how many of the original object remains, it is difficult to say with any certainty.

A corroded and bent Early Post-Medieval (1500-1700) copper-alloy strap-fitting with pendent loop. It measures 28.93x13.37 (at the widest section) x 2.2mm and weighs 3.1g. The object is sub-trapezoidal in shape with an incurved (V-shaped) upper edge. It tapers towards the inward-turning hook. A small worn and corroded probable Roman (AD 43-410) copper-alloy stud with integral shank, measuring 9.04mm in diameter and standing 5.75mm high and weighing 0.4g. The head is circular in shape, with a down-turned rim. It has a slightly raised outer lip at the exterior edge allowing for a recessed circular section which would have presumably held enamel which has now long since been lost. A complete copper-alloy hollow button of later post-medieval/ early modern date (c.1700-1800). It measures 24.73 in height and weighs 4.2g. The object is spherical and made in two parts, with two hemispherical sections soldered together. A rim can be seen running around the middle of the object. There is a loop attached to one hemisphere with an internal measurement of 3.9mm. Below this are two sound holes,one measuring 2.69mm in diameter while the other hole has been slightly squashed and measures 3.5mm. There are patches of whilte-metal coating over the surface.

A damaged and incomplete Post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped trapezoidal shaped buckle, missing the pin and most of the second loop. It measures 21.56x19.23x1.27mm and weighs 1.3g. The frame is broken around the more complete loop and part of the pin bar is missing (old breaks). A lobed protrusion extends beyond the frame from the pin bar and the survivng outside edge is pointed. Both front and reverse surfaces are undecorated. Similar buckles can be found in Whitehead 1996, 82, nos.510-511, which he dates to c.1620-1680.

A cast copper-alloy Modern (c.1800 onwards) possibly hand-held stamp. It measures 32.55x26.95 (at widest point) x5.06mm and weighs 10.7g. The object is T-shaped. The head of the stamp is rectangular in shape with six engraved projections, with the letters YELPOR in mirror image, to read 'ROPLEY' backwards when impressed. From the centre of the underside projects a short possible handle, an elongated triangle in shape 22.34mm in length terminating in a rounded point 4.25mm wide.

The bow is now mostly filled with copper alloy corrosion product but would have been kidney shaped with two spurs on the internal vertical edge. The stem has a moulded collar of three horizontal ridges, and measures 21.3mm in length and 2.0mm in width.

The stem is flat and oval in section, measuring 18.8mm. The bow measures 16.8mm wide with an internal diameter of 9.8mm. The bit is h-shaped, projecting 12.8mm and extending from the end of the stem.

A copper alloy post-medieval (c.1500-1625) copper-alloy end-cap (terminal) from a dagger or knife. It measures 20.7mm in diameter and weighs 3.7g. The end-cap is circular in shape with a domed head, concave to the underside before tapering from the outside lip to create a neck. The upper surface is decorated with five radiating grooves. At the centre is a small rectangular aperture, 3.5mm by 1.2mm. Similar end-caps can be found in Read 2001; 86, where he suggests a 16th century date. Other examples on this database are SF-84CB56 and HAMP-BAF675.

An undatable (but probably Medieval to Post-Medieval) copper alloy multi-purpose ring, variously both square and hexagonal in cross-section. It measures 29.2mm in diameter (internal 19.5mm) and weighs 5.8g. The casting flashes are prominent and have not been removed. Rings like these would have been numerous and multi-purpose, for hanging keys from a belt for example.
