A medieval seal matrix of circa 14th century AD date. The seal is circular in plan, with a bearded man’s face inside double tressure of three arches and three angles, which in turn is inside a circle. The legend reads: *IESVS EST AMOR MEVS [symbol] ('Jesus is my friend'). A perforated lug handle is situated at the top of the reverse side. The object measures 24.4mm in diameter, 3mm thick (9mm thick with the handle), and weighs 9.5g.
