Roman copper alloy strip bow brooch probably re-used as a nail cleaner. The fragment is a thin strip of copper alloy, gradually tapering in width from one end to the other and a shallow arch in profile. At the wider head end (of the brooch) is a patinated but slightly irregular break, suggesting it was broken rather than deliberately cut, a slight projection at one side may suggest it was widening slightly, but not thickening, into a curled over head . Medieval copper alloy zoomorphic stamped sheet buckle plate dating to the late 12th to 13th century depicting a winged lion.
