An incomplete Roman copper alloy hinged strip bow brooch dating to AD 25-70.The majority of the brooch survives although it is missing its pin. The brooch is formed of a single continuous strip of copper alloy rolled up and forward at the top forming the head. The wings are circular in cross-section and enclose a copper axis alloy bar, now corroded but still visible at either open end of the wings. Medieval, copper-alloy, large, circular mount depicting the white boar of Richard III, dating to the later 15th century (1470-1485). The mount is gilded, silvered and enamelled and consists of two parts: a decorated disc held in a separate circular frame which has integral rivets and separate roves. Body sherd from a glazed medieval jug with applied strip on the outer face. The high fired fabric is a reduced mid-grey with a mid-buff on the inner surface only. It has common fine-medium sand temper and very occasional angular pieces of patinated chert/flint up to 1.9mm and very occasional rounded quartz up to 1.2mm. A cast iron ball, probably round shot, that is a cannon ball, dating from the Post Medieval period, about AD1500-1900. The object, which is pitted and corroded, has a diameter of c.100mm and a weight of 3919g, c. 4kg. In recording a similar piece Kinnear states: This corresponds closely with the dimensions and weight of four inch, 'nine-pounder' (weighing 9lbs) ordnance. Rim sherd from a closed vessel, probably a cooking pot, dating to the 11th to 12th century. The rim is everted and has broken at the point it met the vessel wall. A small amount of wall on the inner face suggests a c. 120 degree angle between them. A fragment of a Post Medieval clay pipe. Most of the bowl and the heel survive, but damaged and the stem is missing. The bowl is set at about 60 degrees to the stem and is swollen with convex sides becoming straight only at the top. The rim of the bowl is plain. The heel projects with a large flat, circular base. There is no makers mark visible on the heel but one side is missing to a break as is the stem, both locations used for marks. The bowl measures 25.9mm in length and 20.1mm in maximum diameter. A small fragment of a post medieval clay tobacco pipe, probably dating to the period c. AD 1680 to 1730. Only the heel and a very small part of the bowl survives. The heel is flat and oval shaped, and it is still possible to identify that the heel projects very slightly from the base of the bowl. The base of the heel is stamped with the inscription [C]HAR / WEBB / IN / CHARD. One side of the projecting heel also has a raised letter C.
