A copper-alloy artefact of uncertain date and function, but possibly representing an Iron Age ear ring. The hollow object is sub-crescentic , with two touching points at the apex. The undecorated surface has a blueish-green patina and is pitted from corrosion. Width: 16mm; height: 13.5mm; depth: 10.4mm. Weight: 5.74g. Several similar artefacts, identified as ear rings and dated to the La Tène I period, were found in the Champagne region of France (Stead and Rigby1999: fig. 120).
