A worn copper-alloy Byzantine Half Follis or twenty nummi of Constans II (641-668). Dating to the period 643-647. Large XX (mark of value) flanking long cross reverse type. Mintmark -//CRTΣ. Mint of Carthage. SB No.1057, D.O 138-140, B.M.C 311-320. MIB III, no. 196 [need to ascertain if 196a or b]
Measurements: 19mm in diameter and 5g in weight.

Six gold coins, all looped, found at St Martin's cemetery, Canterbury in c. 1844 and now in National Museums Liverpool. The other coins are: a Kentish medalet of Bishop Liudhard; a west German termissis imitating a 4th century Roman bronze coin; a Frankish solidus and 2 Merovingian tremisses.
